What is G-11?
G-11 is a glass thermoset industrial fiberglass-epoxy laminate available in yellow-green to amber in color. It is available in two classes: H and F. Class H G-11 material operates at 356° Fahrenheit whereas Class F operates at 302° Fahrenheit. Therefore, it is vital to use the right class in the appropriate applications.
G-11 is similar to G-10 but has greater insulating and temperature resistance, as well as exceptional mechanical strength and electrical insulation.
Notable G-11 properties include:
Tensile Strength — 63,000
Compressive Strength — 63,000
Specific Gravity — 1.82
Flexural Strength - LW - A 0.125” — 75,000 psi
Shear Strength — 22,000 psi
Bond Strength — 2,200 psi
Hardness - Mohs Scale — 112
Flammability Rating — 94HB
Izod Impact Strength at 49°C - LW — 12.00
Water Absorption (24 hours) — 0.20
Thermal Expansion Coefficient in Degrees Celsius (x10^-5) — 1.10
Maximum Operating Temperature — 356° Fahrenheit
What forms of G-11 are available?
