What is CE?
CE is a phenolic material layered with electrical-grade heated and pressurized canvas fabric. It undergoes a process of polymerization, producing a single, rigid electrical insulated composite.
Grade-CE canvas phenolics offer many notable benefits. They have higher impact strength than paper phenolics, excellent mechanical strength, high dimensional stability and creep resistance, and offer cost-effect rigidity.
CE properties include:
Tensile Strength — 36,000 psi
Flexural Strength - LW - A 0.125” — 17,000 psi
Specific Gravity — 1.37
Bond Strength — 1,900 psi
Shear Strength — 14,000 psi
Hardness - Mohs Scale — 100
Flammability Rating — 94HB
Izod Impact Strength at 49°C - LW — 1.70
Water Absorption (24 hours) — 2.00
Thermal Expansion Coefficient in Degrees Celsius (x10^-5) — 2.00
Maximum Operating Temperature — 257° Fahrenheit
